GDC Europe is next week, and OMUK’s Mark Estdale will be doing a talk at the conference on Tuesday August 4th from 15:05 to 15:30, on the challenges of localizing comedy. If you’ve wanted a fresh view of localization, then we hope to see some of you there.

Mark Estdale will be speaking at the Nordic Game Conference 2015 on creating believable characters in games. His talk, which will be a live face captured session, is titled ‘Getting Real’, and will be at 12:00 on 22nd May 2015 in the Oslo theatre.

Congratulations to Charles Cecil and the team at Revolution Software as Broken Sword 5: The Serpent’s Curse wins the 2014 Adventure Gamers award for ‘Best Voice Acting’.
With comic sparring dialogue such a core part of the series’ appeal, it is always crucial that Revolution get it right. Well, in The Serpent’s Curse they nailed it once again. The other fantastic finalists certainly made themselves heard, but ultimately we found that our Best Voice Acting award had already been spoken for. see adventuregamers.com
We both cast, directed and recorded The Serpent’s Curse and it was the first UK game to use the full power of GIVR & CDT for recording the voice performances.

The first Blackguards was a well received strategy title from the minds as Daedalic Entertainment, and the recently released Blackguards 2 continues that trend with the same deep gameplay, followed up by some wonderfully unique characters. OMUK were brought on to bring these characters to life, and the results speak for themselves.
The new year is in full swing here at OMUK, with fresh projects and returning favorites alike. One of these such projects is Game of Thrones: A Telltale Games Series, which will be releasing its second episode on February 3rd. Titled ‘The Lost Lords’, the second part of Telltale’s series brings with it fresh faces, and frozen locations. We hope you chose wisely.
Following a period in Steam Early Access, The Book of Unwritten Tales 2 will be seeing a full release on February 20th. OMUK provided Adaptation and Translation from German, Casting, Directing and Recording for the title, and we’re delighted with the result. It’s set to be a wonderfully amusing adventure game, and we can’t wait for you to hear our work on it, if you’re not already relishing each chapter as it comes out!
Telltale Games have released the first episode of their new series, based on HBO’s adaption of Game of Thrones. Episode 1, titled ‘Iron From Ice’, has been released on a variety of platforms. we’ve been heavily involved in this title, helping to cast and record some of the characters you’ll play as along the way.
