OMUK and CDT At GDC 2016

At this year’s GDC (Game Developers Conference) in San Francisco, Mark Estdale will be demonstrating our proprietary Creative Dialogue Tools (CDT). CDT is the engine that powers Game Immersive Voice Recording (GIVR) and has been developed and tested on over 300 titles. It’s designed by dialogue specialists for dialogue specialists. CDT can transform dialogue production for your game and we’ll be demonstrating how at the UKIE …

The OMUK Armoury Expands

As visitors to our Pakenham Street studio are aware, OMUK plays host to a large sword collection, for both authentic sound design & historical interest. Recently, we made the decision to reorganize this collection, with team members taking it upon themselves to construct a rack and secure the swords in a variety of locations. We used some environmental ingenuity too, recycling magnets from the hard drive graveyard to hold the swords in pl…

Team OMUK raises over £3000 for GamesAid

A huge hug and a big thank you to everyone who sponsored Team OMUK for the 2015 London Vitality 10k run last Sunday.

Along with Terry Haynes from Hotgen, Team OMUK raised £3,157.33 for GamesAid. GamesAid is the inspired UK games industry charity that raises funds to support those helping severely disabled and disadvantaged children and young people.

We are sore, hobbling and proud to have all crossed the finish line.

Congratulations to Charles Cecil and the team at Revolution Software as Broken Sword 5: The Serpent’s Curse wins the 2014 Adventure Gamers award for ‘Best Voice Acting’.

With comic sparring dialogue such a core part of the series’ appeal, it is always crucial that Revolution get it right. Well, in The Serpent’s Curse they nailed it once again. The other fantastic finalists certainly made themselves heard, but …

Ubisoft’s ‘The Crew’ Arrives This Week

We’ve been busy here at OMUK towers. One of the titles we’ve had a chance to sprinkle our magic over is Ubisoft’s latest racing game, The Crew. OMUK provided additional cast for the game, and we’re thrilled to see it being so well received. It really is a unique racer, as this review from The Independent demonstrates.

We’ll see you online! We’ll be the ones doing donuts, in all likelihood.

Wings! Remastered Edition launches on Steam

It’s an exciting day for fans of classic games. The remastered edition of Cinemaware’s classic game Wings! launches on Steam and other digital distribution platforms this week, and OMUK was there to help provide VO recording, direction and post production services on the title. The original game featured no voice acting, so having the opportunity to contribute to the new version of the game was lovely.

Hope you all…

Clerks star Jeff Anderson to appear in adventure game Randal’s Monday

We had the opportunity to record an exciting project here at OMUK in conjunction with Nexus Games Studios and Daedalic Entertainment. Randal’s Monday is a passion project by the small team at Nexus, and we were delighted to have been involved in the recording and casting of the game, which features Clerks star Jeff Anderson in the titular role of Randal. Here’s a trailer for the game, with some behind the scenes footage recorded in…
